Our values provide a framework for the Church. They help shape the type of Church we aspire to be.

Our values are divided into three categories - Relate. Grow. Express.

Relate

The Christian faith should always be about relationships. Firstly our relationship with God.  At the Vineyard we believe that each person on this earth was made for relationship with God and that it is in the context of that loving relationship that life makes sense.

Secondly our relationship with other people. By this we don’t just mean everyone at UBV, but people in our community and those we come into contact with around the world.

Thirdly, we have a relationship with our environment. God gave us a wonderful world and it is our responsibility to treat it as the wonderful gift that it is.

  • Intimacy with God
  • Servant hearts (Humility)
  • The needy
  • Loving community
  • Integrity
  • Unity (in UBV and the wider church)
  • Our environment
Grow

At UBV, we often talk about a spiritual journey. It is often helpful to see that in life and with God, we are on a journey of discovery. Sometimes Christianity is defined by a set of rules and regulations. These rules are then used to define who is in and who is out. However, following Jesus is an active experience. As part of that experience, we are always asking a simple question. From where I am right now, am I taking one step closer to Jesus?

God created us and he did a good job! He created us all individually with talents and abilities. He also gives us gifts from his Spirit. Our created nature longs for expression. At UBV we express ourselves and our faith in lots of different ways, celebrating the abilities that our amazing creator God has given us.
